About

printmaking, painting, drawing, design, and Mixed media

I'm a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Printmaking from the University of South Dakota, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting and Printmaking from Indiana University, Herron School of Art.

I've been a Professor of Art at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio since 1999, where I teach Printmaking, Painting, Drawing, Figure Drawing, 2D Design, and Illustration, I work with students from their initial drawing and design foundations to their BFA degree thesis development and exhibitions.

I see art as transforming the mundane, while searching for clarity in the complex and intangible. My creative work manifests itself in prints, paintings, and mixed media work that emphasize the historic use of art as guides, manuels and magic talismans. By re-empowering my art with these archaic applications, I achieve a usefulness and purpose beyond an aesthetic one.
